Cartooning Art K-5th

Young Rembrandts™ Cartooning curriculum uses a structured stepwise format to teach students to create their own animated characters in humorous settings. We break down objects and ideas into simple shapes, then use exaggeration, caricature, and personification to playfully construct our own cartoon images. Our Cartooning curriculum develops academically relevant skills, including spatial-motor planning, mental discipline and fine motor skills, while providing a fun, enriching experience for our students. New lessons every week!

 

Sensational Science K-5th

In Sensational Science, children will harness heat energy, learn the science behind conduction, and explore the properties of both light and color. They will experiment with magnets, examine curious optical illusions, and explore potential and kinetic energy! Children will get to learn all about robots and witness a hair-raising demonstration of static electricity.

Chess K-5th

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

 

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. TUESDAYS

Theatre: Superheroes & Villains K-2nd

ETC to the rescue! Come create stories about superheroes and villains with ETC. Using the superpowers of imagination and creativity, students will collaborate to workshop their evil supervillain laugh, their best superhero stance, and play different games to save the day. With superhero tales and teamwork, students will create their own superhero stories.

 

Karate K-5th

This beginner course is a modern blend of Tae Kwon Do and Karate. Students will learn the basics of self-defense while practicing punches and kicks on padded targets. We also teach the martial arts philosophies including the tenets of self-control, respect, and humility. At the conclusion of the course, students will be tested for their next karate belt by demonstrating the basic kicks and punches of Sport Karate. Belt testing and belts are included in the cost of the program. This class is taught without karate uniforms.

 

Minecraft Survival K-5th

Get ready for an exciting adventure in survival! In Minecraft Survival, children will have the chance to put their skills to the test as they navigate the challenging world of Minecraft. With the help of their classmates, they'll learn how to gather resources, build shelters, and defend against creatures while developing important resource management skills. The classroom environment will be a place where children can collaborate, share ideas, and get excited about their experiences in the game. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn and grow while having fun in the process. Whether in the classroom or at home, Minecraft Survival is an adventure you don't want to miss!



WEDNESDAYS

Intro to Jazz K-5th

Destiny Dance will offer very clear and concise training for all ages. Intro to Jazz, for ages 5-8, will focus on basic jazz terminology and technique progressions, flexibility, and strength. Our dancers will be focused and disciplined as well as learn how to work well with their classmates in a fun and creative environment.

 

Glass Fusing Fun 2nd-5th

This course introduces students to glass fusing. In this educational class, they will learn to design glass to creative beautiful art. Students will make several pieces, including nightlights, garden markers, sun catchers and jewelry. Easy and fun projects!

 

The Science Seed K-2nd

The Science Seed™ introduces children to the various disciplines of science, including geology, chemistry, biology, physics and nature. Classes are taught in fun, interactive and age appropriate ways to ensure that your child not only enjoys science, but builds a foundation for a love of science and learning that grows with them. Each class includes a note for the parents about what was taught and how you can continue the lesson at home. In addition, the concept of scientists as notetakers, journalists, writers and authors is introduced with their science journals that the students will bring home on the last day.

Pokemon Club 2nd-5th

Calling all Pokemon Trainers!  Join the fun as we embark on a Pokemon adventure.  Play fun Pokemon themed games,  Win Pokemon prizes.  Teacher owned and operated.

 

Space War Robotics K-5th

In this Star Wars-inspired program, your padawan learner will explore the basics of robotics while digging into their favorite parts of the Star Wars movies - the machines! While working with a partner to complete various challenges, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with creative building challenges based on the movies they love. May the force be with them as they build and grow!

 

Hungry Hungry Science K-5th

Need some science to sink your teeth into? In Hungry Hungry Science we will explore different scientific concepts using food as our main vehicle for experimentation. We will not only use ingredients to explain different ideas through simple recipes, but make edible experiments as well to learn about reactions, acids & basis, biology, nutrition and more! If you haven’t had your fill of science fun, come fill your bellies in Hungry Hungry Science.

Let's Be Creative K-5th

Creating is a fun and exciting way for children to express themselves. Lines, shapes, shading, color, texture and more will be explored in Let's Be Creative. Using active imagination, stories, music and visual references, students experience how elements of drawing, painting and sculpture magically give form to themes from nature, everyday life, fantasy and the inner world of your child. Each session presents new and fun themes. It is also valuable to explore a familiar theme using different materials and reworking it in new and exciting ways.

Our Winter Wonderland 'Cool'inary Club will take your young chefs on a global culinary journey, whipping up fun, tasty, and healthy recipes each week. Expedition Mars 3rd-5th

Inspired by popular movies, NASA and space travel! Come on an adventure building functional robots using unique RoboThink bricks in this super-fun program. Kids will learn about space, space travel, stars and gravity, all while building a variety of interstellar robots and learning some entrepreneurial skills along the way! Your child will have a blast exploring the world of robotic technologies as they build, learn, and play.
